The best stand in the boat show?

Posted by Peter Barnes on Thursday, September 26, 2013, In : Boat Show
What could be finer than being at the foot of the first staircase? 100,000 punters passing by on their way in - and out!
My little Mirror was admired and the owner of number, 3, 14, 61, 107...... and the first owner of no 32 all came past with stories to tell:

Dear Peter,

I was interested to see Mirror 32 at Southampton this week. It used to belong to my father's cousin, who I think bought it in about 1966 - I bought 1471 that year or the year after. I certainly sailed against M32 many times,...

Mirror32 update!

Posted by Peter Barnes on Saturday, August 31, 2013, In : Boat Show
Newton Crum has sent me A2 300 posters and a £100 donation to 'Tallships'. I'm giving away these great posters to anyone who gives a donation of £5 or more to 'Tallships'. - and they've sent some magnifying glasses too. Is this so you can check the small print on your existing insurance? What a great company!
I've got a local firm making T-shirts and I've finished varnishing the boat.
I'm still open to offers for manning the stand. You'll get a free ticket, a nice T-shirt to wear on the stand...

Email to Mirror News Group:

Posted by Peter Barnes on Thursday, August 29, 2013, In : Boat Show
Dear Sirs,

Over 70,000 of these have been made to date and the organisers of the Southampton Boat Show have given me a stand to display Mirror number 32 (made in 1963). I'm doing this in order to raise funds for

Mirror 32 in Photo shoot with Shirley Robertson OBE

Posted by Peter Barnes on Saturday, August 3, 2013, In : Boat Show

To tell you the truth, I'm a bit shocked to discover that we are going ahead with Mirror 32 at the Boat Show because I thought that I'd knocked it on the head with an email to Mike on 15th July. My problem was, and still is, the amount of time that I would need to spend in Southampton from 13th-22nd Sept...
